Ramadan is 9th month in the Islamic calendar and is celebrated as the when the early verses of the Qur'an were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). Lailatul-Qadr is the actual night when the Qur'an was given to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) and this night usually falls within last 10 days of Ramadan. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drinks and many other pleasures from dawn to dusk and focus on prayer, charity and on purification of mind and soul. Start of Ramdan begins by sighting the moon, in many countries moon is sighted using technical equipments however in some countries moon is believed to be sighted only with naked eye to declare start of Ramadan. Ramadan is equally important to all Muslims however it has drastic impact on daily life in the countries with majority of Muslim population. During Ramadan, the rewards of charity are considered 70 times greater, as a result, Muslims choose to give more "Sadqa" during the month of Ramadan. End of Ramadan is celebrated as Eid-ul-Fitr. Muslims around the world celebrate Eid by sighting new moon and by putting best clothes, exchanging gifts, spending time with their family and friends and inviting beloved ones on meals.
